Air Partner has been offering trusted aviation solutions for 60 years. Adding new divisions to our portfolio all the time and expanding our markets globally, we have just had our most successful year ever, despite the pandemic! Leaders in Aviation Charter, we believe in developing our own and rewarding good work. We are looking for an Account Manager / Broker or Senior Account Manager / Broker, to join our Commercial Jets team based in our Gatwick office. Salary will be dependent on relevant experience, and you will also join our commission scheme.
Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Jets (Group Charter) UK, the role involves delivering revenue and profitability in accordance with your agreed targets and maintaining high earning key accounts. This will be achieved by providing ad-hoc charter solutions to your clients.
To compliment the primary role, it will be necessary to be included in various field activities such as client visits, airline visits, aircraft viewings and flight riding or flight dispatch, so the ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally, sometimes at short notice, is essential.
To be effective in this role you will demonstrate proactive sales ability, smart procurement abilities, resourceful aircraft location, creative presentation of offers, outstanding commercial awareness, insightful closing techniques and robust administration for the flight planning arrangements.
What you will be doing:
• Processing incoming enquires for charter services, liaising with operators, quoting, planning and overseeing the final booking and the relevant documentation that accompanies this, offering excellent customer service throughout • Maintaining and growing our existing client base via cold calling, networking, referrals etc. • Achieving targets set for each financial year • Providing support to the Head of Commercial Jets UK (Group Charter) in all aspects of day-to-day trading • Assisting with client care activities and supplier relations • Ensuring a speedy turnaround of new and existing client enquiries • Ensuring all new enquiries are entered correctly into CRM and updated on a regular basis • Providing an after sales service and orderly maintenance of paperwork / files • Researching relevant industry data to create new sales leads • Building new business for Air Partner in a competitive market and cross sell other services • Managing and maintaining high service levels on demanding accounts
This role will involve occasional out of hours work, often in pressured, time sensitive situations, so a flexible and clam attitude is necessary for this role. Work hard however, and earning potential is great!
What we are looking for:
You will ideally have a background in aviation charter broking. This does not necessarily need to be for commercial jets. We may also consider candidates with a strong background in other Broking / Account Manager roles in other sectors or hungry, agency-based recruitment consultants.
We are also looking for:
• A good understanding of changing markets both in aviation charter operators and clients (highly desirable) • A very customer focused individual with good people skills and the ability to form relationships with key individuals • An ability to communicate effectively, with a strong telephone manner • An ability to anticipate and out manoeuvre rivals in competitive tenders • Previous experience working in an international environment • Demonstrable background in generating consistent GP and hitting personal and departmental targets • Excellent time management skills ensuring rigorous contract/project deadlines are met • A well organised and resourceful individual • IT literacy and an ability to learn the functions of a new system • Numerate, efficient and accurate • A competitive, highly motivated and hungry to win business nature • A logical approach to problem solving and adapt at keeping up with changing situations • An ability to maintain a sense of humour, even in a pressured situation • A team player • An ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally, sometimes at short notice • A flexible approach to working hours • A willingness to do what it takes to earn new business, including cold calling
