We are looking for a Business Development Support Executive to join us at Baines Simmons to cover a period of maternity leave, most likely from early February 2021. This position will be mostly remote/ working from home, although there may be a requirement to attend client or business meetings from time to time. This is a senior support role within the Development department, working with the team on strategic sales and large programmes across training and consultancy services.
Key responsibilities will include supporting the Senior Business Development team in progressing opportunities through the sales cycle, freeing them up to be more client facing. You will be involved with all elements of sales activity including Tender and proposal generation, entering pipeline activity, maintaining pipeline status on the CRM / booking tool and creating presentations. There will also be the opportunity for some client engagement, being an interface between the client and the team when Business Developers are out of the office.

What you will be doing:
Managing sales proposal production for strategic BDMs
Managing the production of all response documentation e.g. sending out Non-Disclosure Agreements and draft Framework Agreements
Contributing to Tender production processes, populating where appropriate, pre-existing collateral
Working with the Sales Administration Manager to ensure that high quality responses are delivered to standard and on time
Interfacing with the Legal department and The Head of Business Development to resolve variations from standard contracting terms
Interfacing with clients, predominantly via email and phone as appropriate
Supporting with client follow up, including proposals, workshop leads and chasing signed contracts and purchase orders
Arranging client meetings and supporting with presentation production
Attending conference’s as part of the Baines Simmons team and managing post-conference follow up
Supporting BD and Programme Managers with pipeline management in CRM, ensuring that CRM figures accurately represent both forecast and sold fee income
Supporting with industry research
Working with Service Delivery to ensure Large Programmes and Consulting projects are resourced
Supporting the finance team with consultancy invoicing
Reviewing and creating templates
Reporting forecast and pipeline for Consultancy
Attending meetings and providing updates on projects and keeping track of the consulting inbox and tender alert emails
Manage diaries, arrange calls/ meetings and offer day to day support to all team members
What we are looking for:
You will be an extremely well organised and articulate individual with excellent attention to detail, even when working towards tight deadlines. You will also:

Have strong Account Management skills
Have a good understanding of sales cycles
Have an ability to think outside of the box
Be highly proactive and self-motivated
Be comfortable using your initiative
Be able to take ownership for projects and lead when appropriate
Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Be confident working at all levels of the organisation
Be confident and autonomous enough to own your decisions
Have a flexible and adaptable approach and be able to cope with change
Be a team player who is cooperative and supportive
Have strong MS Office skills
Having experience within a sales support role within the Aviation Training / Consulting Sectors would be an advantage.
